• Holding the inhaler upright, slide the lid to the side and down to open it. The inhaler will click and the dosage meter will count down by one when the lid is fully opened.
• Exhale completely.
• Move the mouthpiece of the inhaler (which was covered by the lid) to the mouth and inhale slowly and deeply.
• When finished inhaling, hold the breath for as long as comfortable.
• Replace the lid on the inhaler and resume breathing normally.

Some tips to help ensure treatment is trouble-free:

• Once the inhaler is opened and the click is heard, that dose is ready to be administered. Closing the inhaler without inhaling the dose will cause the dose to be lost permanently.
• Keep the inhaler held upright (mouthpiece pointing up) once opened until it is brought to the mouth. Tipping the inhaler may cause the dose to spill out and be lost.
• Some patients will notice the feel or taste of the powder when inhaling, others will not. Do not take a double-dose even if there is no noticeable taste or feel.
• This inhaler does not require cleaning and should not be gotten wet. If powder builds up around the mouthpiece it may be wiped off with a dry cloth or tissue.
• As with all inhaled powders, rinsing the mouth out after each dose will help prevent potential mouth complications.

Effects from Incruse Ellipta can be difficult to detect; there is no immediate effect as from a rescue inhaler, and it may take some days or weeks of consistent use before effects are significant at all.
